Our small company has over 40 years of experience in the home renovation industry

At SOS Homecare we take the time to listen to our customers. We want to know what your desires and your expectations are for your home remodeling project. SOS Homecare does not compete by price — we compete by value. We bring our high-standards and high-quality work to every project and give you a fair price for the work. During our home remodeling process we try to recycle and reuse as much of your existing materials as possible to cut waste and save you money.

SOS Homecare has been in the home remodeling and landscaping business for nearly 30 years. Initially, most of our work was on landscaping and exterior remodeling projects but over the years we have shifted our expertise to be in kitchen remodeling and bathroom remodeling. We try to not only provide superior craftsmanship to every job, but we also like to bring our design aesthetics and expertise to every job as well.

We work on all types of homes but many of the homes we work on were built in Minneapolis and St. Paul between the 1890s and the 1940s. We have a great understanding of the architecture behind the homes built during this time and have much experience in restoring these homes to their original beauty. SOS Homecare is owned and operated by Todd Oberg and Lee Switzenberg. We are a gay contractor service out of Minneapolis. Much of our business was started within the gay community. Many of our customers who were gay couples experienced discrimination from other contractor services. We were able to provide these customers with trustworthy contractors who guaranteed to not only finish each job exceptionally, but also guaranteed to bring integrity to each job. We have been in the home remodeling and landscaping service industry for nearly 30 years. We have developed many skills through our experiences but sometimes we rely on people with greater expertise to help on some of our projects. Our sub-contractors range from electricians to painters to hardwood flooring contractors.

We use licensed contractors when providing plumbing, electric, lighting and gas work on our projects. And believe we have the best sub-contractors in town! We think they are so great, that we have invited them to work on our own properties too. Our sub-contractors are all licensed and insured. They act with the highest degree of professionalism and provide your home with the highest quality of work in their given industry.
